Sting
After arriving to the sting house, Morales told the two decoy's that he did not speak English. However, he paid the decoys the agreed upon amount. The language barrier made communication difficult during the Chris Hansen interview, requiring a translation application. Even with the application, the translation made communication frustrating for both parties. When asked if he was an illegal immigrant, Morales responded, "I'm a person wanting to get ahead and work." He was unemployed at the time because he was "a boy." Due to the translation difficulty, a friend of the Sheriff was brought in to translate.
Morales claimed that he was aware of the illegality of having sex with a fifteen-year-old, but that he did not know the decoy's age. He claimed that he thought the decoy was just a "normal girl."

On or about July 6, 2026, Morales was transferred from the Blount County Jail into the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He was first held at the Etowah County Jail before being transferred to the Adams County Correctional Center in Missouri.
