Case narrative
Sting
Knowles struck up a conversation with Dan as soon as he went inside. This cued Chris Hansen to emerge. Knowles said he was at the house to play pool when questioned about his intentions. When questioned about his age, Knowles admitted to being thirty-five. Knowles said he couldn't recall. Knowles also acknowledged having met several people online.
Chris queried why he would send it to a teenager. Knowles responded by saying he distributed it to everyone. Chris then jokingly queried whether it served as his "calling card." Knowles acknowledged seeing To Catch a Predator numerous times when Chris asked if he had seen the show. Knowles exited the house when Chris identified himself and the cameras came out. The police then took him into custody.
Arrest and death
Knowles chose his right to remain silent when brought before investigators. Knowles died in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on August 23, 2016, three days after his forty-fifth birthday from unknown causes.
Trivia
Knowles is one of six suspected predators in the Texas sting that have died. Others are Louis Conradt , Stanley Kendall , Timothy Gilliam , William Dow , and Edward Hollingsworth V .
