Case narrative

Sting

As planned, Hall's mother drove him to the apartment complex and dropped him off. Hall called the decoy again to get directions to the exact apartment. Due to safety concerns, the decoy did not meet Hall at the door. Instead, Chris Hansen greeted him. Hall immediately got visibly nervous. He trembled, shook, and made erratic movements throughout most of the interview. He also repeatedly grabbed his beard with his entire hand and pulled at the hair. Additionally, Hall kept aggressively biting at his hand and fingers out of nervousness. Chris was concerned about the biting because it appeared to break the skin.

Hall claimed that he "misread" the decoy's age and believed that she was actually nineteen. Chris pushed back and asked why Hall was concerned about it being a Chris Hansen sting if he truly believed that the decoy was of age. Hall claimed that he thought the decoy could have been, at the youngest, seventeen. Hall begged Chris to not read further and began to slightly cry.

Hall expressed that he was just "sad and lonely and thought [he] met somebody." Chris asked if there were any girls his own age, but Hall stated that he had never found a girl his age to have a relationship with. He asked Chris to let him leave because he wasn't a "bad person, just lonely." Hall then accused Chris and police and misleading him. When asked what he thought of other predators caught in Chris Hansen stings, Hall said that he felt bad for them. Hall told Chris that he was the only person making money at his house and was worried that his family would be homeless if he went to prison.

Deputies explained the situation to her outside of the apartment and away from cameras. Sheriff Ard described the mother as "angry with us" over the arrest of her son.

Aftermath

Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor.

As of April 25, 2025, Hall was still being held at the Livingston Parish Jail on a $700,000 bond.

In March 2026, Hall pleaded guilty to the charges against him. He was sentenced to two years in prison with hard labor and given credit for the time he had already spent in jail. He was also ordered to spend three years on supervised release, register as a sex offender, and pay nearly $4,000 in fines and court costs.
