Case narrative

Biography

He also had two daughters that were fourteen and eighteen-years-old at the time of the sting. She was described as being in her "mid-thirties" with "dark hair."

Sting

Gizinski arrived to the sting house, which was decorated with pictures of Jerry Hetherington , Donnie Vaughn , and various warning signs. After a brief conversation with the decoy, where Gizinski said almost nothing, she left and Chris Hansen came out to confront him. Chris asked Gizinski why he was there, to which he responded, "To save a little girl." When asked what he planned to save the girl from, Gizinski stated, "From whatever the hell is going on here." Although he immediately thereafter stated that he had "no idea" what was going on at the house. Gizinski also lied to Chris and told him that his name was "Josh."

Gizinski denied wanting to have sex with the minor decoy. Chris clarified that it was the sexual picture of an underaged girl that interested Gizinski, which was answered in the affirmative. Gizinski then stated, "I'm not a predator, bud, I promise."

Gizinski stated that his only intention was to help the minor girl, fearing that she might be held in a drug house against her will. After further questioning, Gizinski reverted back to his original excuse of wanting to come over to "help" the decoy by giving her money and a ride somewhere. He also blamed the decoy, stating that "she was the one leaning into it, bud."

Aftermath

Child Sexually Abusive Activity Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

Gizinski's bond was set at $30,000, according to court records, but a local media outlet reported that it was $10,000. He served one day in jail before being released to await trial. In a plea deal, he pled guilty to Using a Computer to Commit a Crime in return for having the other two charges dismissed and a more favorable sentence. He was sentenced on September 30, 2024 to 60 months of probation with no additional jail time and was required to register with the non-public sex offender registry. His parole discharge date is scheduled for September 30, 2029.

Genesee County deputies planned to investigate the claims, but the Sheriff and Chris questioned its truthfulness, stating that they believed it was a pre-planned excuse.
