Case narrative
Sting
Khan never entered the house, so Chris Hansen did not interview him. When Khan arrived, another predator, Henry Guzman , arrived before him. Khan watched Guzman enter the house, and police appeared on the scene. Because of this, he decided to escape but was pulled over by a police car down the street. Khan was arrested, photographed with Guzman, and brought to the makeshift booking station. His car was then searched.
He then said the familiar "I felt really bad about coming" to the investigator, claiming he would kick his own ass if he went through with it. Finally, the investigator told Khan that they had found a "device" in his truck, a device with which the investigator (playing dumb) claimed he was unfamiliar. Khan explained that he had picked it up during a bachelor party and had no intentions of using it when interacting with the child. When the investigator confronted Khan about taking off because he saw another suspect enter the house, Khan admitted to seeing Guzman, referring to him as "the guy in the Mustang," but denied that being the reason he didn't enter the house.
Aftermath
Khan was arrested in August 2006, and his case finally concluded with a conviction of Child Endangerment, a misdemeanor, in May 2010; he pleaded guilty. He received three years of probation, had to submit a DNA sample, and completed community service work. He did not have to register as a sex offender.
2023 update
Hansen said in his Predators I've Caught podcast that he wasn't too sure how he felt about Khan not being required to register as a sex offender. Hansen found a number associated with Khan and reached out. The voice sounded like Khan in the voicemail, and Chris left a message telling him to call him back, but he heard no word from Khan.
Trivia
Khan is a name of South Asian (e.g. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan) descent, particularly amongst its Muslim communities. He appears to have sold his house in January 2025.
