Reviewed sting-related legal outcome. March14,2025 stated as plea date, not independently exact sentence date. Polk ShowCase link returned application shell, not case content; no court_record basis. Registry republisher corroborates an attempted trafficking offense; ambiguous wiki wording is not treated as two separate convicted counts. Other original counts retain unknown outcomes.
Case narrative
Sting
Louis went to the hotel and stood by his vehicle for a while before meeting with the decoy in the lobby. Louis went to the room and was arrested by deputies upon entering.
Chris Hansen began his interview by asking if Louis was a fan of the University of Michigan, since Louis was wearing a sweater with that logo on it. Louis was confused by the question, asking if Chris was from Michigan and not understanding what "university" meant. He then told Chris that he did not own the sweater. Louis initially did not want to participate in the interview, but continued to answer some questions.
Louis claimed that he did not have any intent to have sex with a fifteen-year-old girl. Instead, he claimed that he intended to give money to a 71-year-old, referring to the foster mother. Chris did not believe this story and asked why Louis was blaming other people. There was a brief back-and-forth about the word "blame," with Louis seemingly not understanding what the word meant. Chris continued to ask more questions, but Louis refused to answer most. Chris questioned whether Louis was from Haiti, but Louis appeared confused by the word. Although he did state that he was from Haiti, after saying that he was from Tampa, he then grew confused about what the word "Haiti" meant. Chris asserted that Louis was "playing games" with him and purposely misunderstanding words.
Aftermath
A plea deal was reached and Louis plead guilty to lesser attempted to coerce/commit a sexual act on a child less than 18 years of age and human trafficking on March 14, 2025. He received 10 years in state prison which will be followed by 20 years probation.
