Case narrative

Sting

Instead of a real child, "Musti" was welcomed by Chris Hansen when he arrived at the sting house. "Musti" asserted that he discussed sexually explicit content online with all of his friends and maintained it was just a game. "Musti" stated that he and other people "play" when conversing on webcam when Chris asked if he exposed himself on his camera. The rest of "Musti's" interaction with Hansen remains lost.

Aftermath

Since it was Dateline NBC's first investigation into online sexual predators, local law enforcement did not conduct a parallel investigation. Therefore, Musti was never charged with a crime.

2025 update

On February 1, 2025, Peverted Justice founder Xavier Von Erck made a video where he revealed that Musti's real name was Mustafa Ozkan, a Turkish national who was deported in early 2005, although Erck did not reveal why he was forced to leave the United States.

2023 update

Eric was unconvinced that they were telling the truth.
