Sting
Mahl traveled 1 and a half hours to the operation, detectives track him the whole drive, utilizing a police helicopter & surveillance camera's. Because Mahl was a Lieutenant, SWAT members where dispatched incase he had a weapon, they cornered him in right next to the sting house taking him in,
When brought into the sting house, Matthew refused to answer any questions asked by Chris Hansen, instead replying " I'm sorry, I'm not answering any questions, until I can speak with an attorney" . He showed no remorse whatsoever.
Investigators searched Mahl's home, finding a Dell Laptop with an external HDD, on the HDD detectives found hundreds of images depicting CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material).
