Biography
He previously had entered o tried to enter the United States, but was expelled twice from the country and sent back to Mexico, where he entered, under a Title 42 expulsion , generally meaning that he was a public health risk. At some point after his expulsions, he illegally entered the United States and remained until the sting.

Due to Estrada being in the United States illegally, he was transferred from Genesee County custody to federal custody under U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
