Case narrative

Sting

When he arrives at the sting house, Marshalls runs from the house when he spots NBC's crew in the other room, which means he never gets a chance to talk to Chris Hansen . The police quickly apprehend him and arrest him in the front yard.

When interrogated by police, he apologized for trying to meet the girl and said it was a "bad judgment call," although he claimed he would not want to have sex with the decoy. The police threw down his excuses and said he provided a child with pornographic websites. The police made it clear he could go to prison for a very long time, as well as ruin his entire military career. Marshall had been charged with criminal attempt to commit statutory rape and criminal attempt to commit child molestation.
