Case narrative

Aftermath

Farooq’s partners were not charged due to a lack of evidence of intent, but Farooq, who originally pleaded not guilty, was convicted of his crime; he was sentenced to three years probation and a year of sexual assault counselling.

According to a blog post in February 2021, Farooq spent six years in custody fighting deportation to Pakistan, although according to the author, Farooq's Megan's Law page listed him as "DEPORTED" when the author last checked it. However, after the Megan's Law system was updated, Farooq's profile was removed entirely.

According to Hansen on his Predators I've Caught podcast, Farooq, after his conviction and probationary period, was in fact detained for several years and deported. Neither replied to Hansen's calls.

Trivia

Though many Indians have been caught on the show in several different operations, this was the first and only time a Pakistani national had been exposed. In his incredibly brief previously unreleased phone call, Farooq is revealed to have an American accent, suggesting he spent quite a long time in the United States before his arrest and deportation.
