Lucas Field

The sting was set up in a local hotel room. Field had initially got lost finding the room, but after calling the decoy a second time, he was able to find it. After entering the room, Field was immediately taken into custody by police and sat down for the Chris Hansen interview. When asked what the decoy's age was, Field acknowledged that he knew her age to be fifteen. Field answered "just to see her, I guess." Field claimed that he was going to send a decoy a text saying that he was not going to touch her, but that deputies detained him before he could, despite the fact that deputies detained him after he had already entered the hotel room and met the decoy.

Field claimed that he was not going to "follow through" with any of his sexual plans with the decoy. Field then blamed the decoy, saying, "She's a little bit of an instigator, herself." Chris asked how a fifteen-year-old minor girl could be an instigator, to which Field responded that she instigated by talking about what she wanted to do sexually. Field claimed that it was really the decoy's fault because she told him that she liked having her "butt played with." Field told Chris that he was not interested in doing anything sexually with the decoy and was only "playing around."

Through each of the questions, Field repeated his claimed that he was not going to touch the decoy. Eventually, Field requested a lawyer. Due to his elderly mother, who was asleep at home, requiring assistance and Field not being there because of his arrest, a welfare check was conducted on her.

Child Sexually Abusive Activity Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

In a plea agreement, Field pled no contest to Using a Computer to Commit a Crime and Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days, resulting in no additional jail time, and was given five years of probation. As part of his probation, Field had to register on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry as a Tier II Offender for 25 years and must enroll in a sexual abuse treatment program.
