Kolin Alexis

Alexis had been communicating with a decoy posing as a fourteen-year-old girl.

He arrived to the sting house wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt and complemented the decoy on her gaming setup. They then had a brief and awkward conversation about Mario Kart and his expectations for the evening. Alexis suggested that they lay down, at which point the decoy left and Chris Hansen came out. Alexis had come to the decoy's apartment from work at a local school. Alexis told Chris that he had a good day at the school before coming.

Although Chris was aware that Alexis' first name was Kolin, Alexis insisted after questioning that his name was not Kolin and instead was Josh. Before Chris was able to bring up the decoy's age, Alexis stated, "I thought she was older than she told me." Alexis asserted that he believed this due to the conversation he had but did not elaborate. He also claimed that the decoy messaged him first, but Chris responded that Alexis actually messaged the decoy first.

He was able to make it out of the door and nearly close it before detectives grabbed him and pulled him back in, taking him to the floor. While face down on the floor, Alexis noted that he did not have his glasses and could not see. Detectives responded, "That's fine, you made that decision." He was then sat back next to Chris on the couch to continue the interview. When asked why he ran, Alexis said, "Because I'm young."

Alexis said that he meant "whatever [the decoy] was insinuating." Chris then accused Alexis of blaming the decoy instead of himself. Alexis responded by then blaming parents for not preventing children from getting on apps to meet adult men like him. Alexis also asserted that the app he used was recently updated, forcing him to verify himself, which he suggested that the decoy must have as done thereby assuring him that she was over the legal age. Alexis tried explaining that he had intended to ask the decoy to confirm her age after arriving, but that Chris interrupted before he had a chance, saying, "This wasn't in the deal, you know?"

After talking about his personal life some, Alexis lamented the thought that he would be casting other black people in a negative light based on his actions. When Chris revealed his name, Alexis asked, "Are you THE Chris Hansen?" As Alexis was being led away by detectives, Chris noticed that he left behind a box of Trojan Magnum large sized condoms. Alexis stated, "I mean, I don't need 'em, so." Alexis maintained that he did not intend on having a minor.
