When Leonard got to the apartment used for the sting, he was immediately confronted by Chris Hansen . Leonard was wearing large, noise-cancelling headphones when he got there. He told Chris that he was speaking to his brother through the headphones. He wore them throughout the entirety of the interview. Leonard claimed that his only intention was to drop off skittles for the girl then leave for work. During the interview with Chris, Leonard claimed to be 22 years old, but was actually 31. Chris gave him another opportunity to tell the truth, but Leonard did not. He also claimed that he believed the decoy's age to be 28. Leonard pulled out his phone to find proof of the age, but was unable to find anything that said 28. I want to see your naughty side." Leonard asked Chris if he was in trouble, asserting that he did nothing wrong. His theory was that he did not commit any crime because he put "lol" after his messages.
