Case narrative

Sting

Keeler arrived at the sting house, orange Faygo and KitKat in hand, and met the decoy at the door. When she walked out, Chris Hansen came out to confront him. However, Keeler grabbed his things from the kitchen table and ran to the door. Deputies struggled with detaining him on the porch, eventually pulling him down off of the steps and onto the ground. While being led back into the house, Keeler requested that deputies cover his face from the cameras. Keeler began crying at the kitchen table and hit his forehead on it to hide his face. During a search of Keeler's pockets, deputies found a pocket knife.

Deputies were eventually able to calm Keeler down enough to talk to Chris. Keeler pleaded that he was "just a single male, man." He was initially very reluctant to answer any questions, with Chris asking him what he did for work multiple times and Keeler only responding by asking if he was going to jail. Keeler offered Chris a deal, whereby he would answer any questions so long as someone told him whether he was going to spend the night in jail. He expressed that he needed to call his mother and inform her since she was watching his child that evening.

Keeler claimed that, while he thought about having sex with the decoy, he changed his mind before arriving and only intended to give the girl the Faygo and KitKat then leave. The conversation went back and forth with these claims and Chris not believing them. Chris also brought up the fact that the sting took place two days before Thanksgiving. Keeler objected to what he believed was a taunt by Chris, telling him that his life was now ruined and Thanksgiving plans were not his primary concern. Chris asked if Keeler was attempting to blame Chris, but Keeler said that he was not and instead was blaming himself. Chris then told Keeler, "No turkey for you."

Aftermath

Juston was one of seven individuals arrested for allegedly attempting to engage in sexual acts with minors. He was charged with:

Child Sexually Abusive Activity Accosting and Soliciting a Minor Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

Keeler pled guilty to the third charge in exchange for having the other two dropped, he was sentenced on March 13, 2026 to 45 days in the Genesee County Jail, 5 years of Probation, and forced to register as a Tier I Non-Public Sex Offender.
