Case narrative

Biography

Juan was an immigrant from Venezuela where he was still a citizen.

Sting

Arriving an hour late at the sting house, Juan was met by the decoy Rochelle Therrien . She then lied and told him she had to go inside to retrieve something, instructing Juan to help himself to some lemonade. In a moment of vulnerability, Juan asked, “Can I see you?”

Chris then popped out and said, “You can see me.” Chris inquired about the girl's age, to which Juan responded that she was either fourteen or fifteen. Juan lied to Chris about his age, claiming he was eighteen. Chris later asked to see his driver's license to prove his age. Juan stated he didn't have it with him. When questioned about how he arrived at the sting house, Juan claimed his friend Ramon had driven him to the house and had the car. Chris shot his lies down as they already knew he went to the sting house using the car on the street. Juan admitted he drove to the sting house himself and that his driver's license was suspended. He said he would not do anything with the girl. Juan then realized there is a problem with meeting a young girl. When Chris exposed Juan on national television and the camera crew emerged, Juan shook Chris' hand before walking out of the sting house and being arrested by police officers.

2024 update

According to Chris on his Predators I've Caught podcast, Juan was released in April of 2007. He violated his probation five months after he was released from prison for failure to report to his probation officer. He went on the run for two years. What he did during this time is unknown, but it may have been to prevent ICE federal agents from deporting him, with no criminal history suggesting that he got into trouble during this time. In December of 2009, he was found and arrested again by ICE agents and went to prison for another year. He was arrested yet again by ICE agents after being released and, finally, in April of 2011, he was deported back to Venezuela where he is still a citizen. Chris asked anyone who may know Juan and knows he is in the United States to tell Juan (now in his forties) that Chris would like to talk to him.

Trivia

According to Perverted Justice and Chris on his podcast, Juan was almost caught in another sting but never showed up.
