Reviewed sting-related legal outcome. No conviction or sentence in the reviewed aftermath. Prior criminal history is not the sting outcome; inaccessible MiCOURT link earns no court badge. WLUC March 3, 2026 reports a stay awaiting People v Jade, not a dismissal, conviction or sentence. The article describes separate outcomes for other defendants which must not be assigned to Kohler. The referenced Supreme Court decision in People v Jade was issued July 31, 2026. It vacated the appellate ruling and remanded that separate case. Kohler post-decision docket outcome has not been established; the March 2026 stay report is historical, not proof the precedent remains pending.

Sting
Jeremy Kohler arrived at the sting house and met the decoy at the door, immediately asking if she was alone. He then asked if she would like him to get the White Claw cans from his car. After sitting down on the couch with the decoy that he believed to be a fifteen-year-old girl, Kohler placed rolled marijuana on the table for her. He then complained about traffic, affirmed that he had brought condoms, and offered the decoy some of the marijuana that he brought.
The decoy then left and Chris Hansen emerged to confront Kohler. Kohler claimed that his only plan was to smoke marijuana with the minor girl and that he did not know who she was or what her name was. When asked by Chris Hansen if Kohler intended on having having sex with the minor, Kohler responded, "well, I mean she said she... that's what she said." Kohler then denied knowing that the decoy was fifteen-years-old, saying that he did not pay attention. He repeatedly denied knowing that the decoy was fifteen.
Kohler began getting frustrated with Chris Hansen's questions and asked if he was a police officer. Kohler explained that he isn't going to sit there if Chris was not law enforcement. When Chris asked why Kohler would bring marijuana and alcohol to a minor, Kohler stated that he did not think that it was an okay thing to do. After being asked why he would do it if it wasn't okay, Kohler asked for a lawyer.
Chris Hansen then questioned Kohler about his family. Kohler stated that he was unmarried but had two children, fourteen and sixteen-year-old girls. One remained at home and another went to a friend's house while Kohler drove to meet with the underage decoy. Kohler grew more frustrated by Chris' questions about his daughters and decided to leave, against Chris' suggestion that he stay. Kohler was physically apprehended by police at the door and brought to the ground. He expressed annoyance at the camera operator filming him on the ground. While being handcuffed on the floor, Chris Hansen stated, "Jeremy, I asked you not to leave. And look what happened." Kohler was assisted off of the floor and stated that he did not give Chris permission to film him, to which Chris responded that he did not need permission. He refused to answer any more questions.
