Case narrative

Biography

Dr. Beck, an emergency room doctor and pediatrician, had practiced medicine at Memorial Hospital at Easton and Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge since 1999. According to Chris in a Podcast, Beck was divorced for several years. Beck still lived in Edgewater, Maryland lived with roommates.

2022 update

In a Predators I've Caught podcast episode in 2022, Chris managed to track down a profile on an app with doctor listings. The conversation was brief, with Beck seeming in an everyday mood at first but grumpily saying, "I'm fine" when Chris introduced himself and asked how he was doing. Chris attempted to explain why he was calling but Beck swiftly hung up. Chris left a message for Beck when he didn't pick up after the second call, but he has yet to hear from him. The profile was removed shortly after the conversation.

A much more recent picture of Dr. Beck from 2019 adopting a Poodle from a pet store.

Dr. Beck, according to Hansen, had two roommates whom Beck met on an online site geared to spanking fetishes. One of the males was an adult and one was a kid at the age of fourteen. Hansen claimed that if Dr. Beck had done precisely what he did during the sting today, he probably would have been charged with a crime.

Hansen went on to claim how back in 2005, with no police right there and a different set of laws, he got away, and there were a couple of reasons why. The first reason was that it was a county issue; Dr. The second reason was that the FBI could not get involved as Beck was conscientious in not committing to a sexual act. Even though he groomed the decoy he, promised not to come for sex, leaving his intent (in the eyes of the law) somewhat vague, as the FBI at that time only went after cases that they know are definitely guilty.

Despite Chris claiming that it is still being determined whether Dr. Beck practices medicine today, searches of the medical board show his license still needs to be revoked in all the states, such as Maryland and California.

Trivia

Dr. Beck is the only aired predator from the episode without a Predator Raw segment, possibly due to the fact he was the only one not charged. A clip found on YouTube shows extended footage of Beck that was not shown in the original broadcast episode. The clip originates from a bonus episode called "Where Are They Now?".
