Case narrative
Biography
He has been married and divorced multiple times.
Sting
Weigandt arrived to the sting house with a lit cigarette in his mouth. Weigandt told Chris that his name was "Jeff." Weigandt insisted that the condoms he brought were not for him to use, but were rather for the decoy to use for future sex with other men. Weigandt also insisted that the money he brought was not for sex, but rather as a donation to the decoy so that she would be able to take her ad down. Chris accused Weigandt of lying and using his "donation" as a cover.
Weigandt also brought marijuana to the sting house, intending to give it to the minor girl. Weigandt told Chris that he intended to use the marijuana as a way to convince the decoy to not have sex with adult men. Chris did not believe this story, however, and suggested that Weigandt actually intended to use the marijuana as a way to convince the decoy to have sex with him. During the interview, Weigandt became louder and argued with Chris.
Weigandt insisted that he had no intention of having sex with a minor. When asked what should happen to him, Weigandt said that nothing should happen to him because he did not do anything wrong.
Aftermath
An inventory of Weigandt's person produced a large jar of marijuana, about $100 in cash, rolling papers, and condoms. Weigandt was charged with:
Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes Child Sexually Abusive Activity Using a Computer to Commit a Crime
While the specifics of why are not clear, all of Weigandt's charges were dismissed.
