Biography
Peterson has an extensive criminal history, consisting in part of: many possession of TCH charges, carrying a concealed weapon, drug paraphernalia, bail jumping, sex with a child 16 years of age or older, disorderly conduct, possession of amphetamine/lsd/psilocin, marijuana possession, strangulation, battery, burglary, criminal damage to property, resisting or obstructing an officer, and various traffic offenses.
James Peterson describes himself as an "independent recording artist and producer." He is the "Owner and CEO of JLp1317 $ound Productionz BLuE WoLF entertainment" and goes by the stage name "JLp1317." He also described himself as "one of todays hottest underground, unknown artists in the music Industry." The aesthetic he uses for his music often invokes Freemason imagery, although based on the use it does not appear that he is legitimately associated with any recognized lodge of Freemasons, as well as heavily filtered pictures of himself with words incomprehensibly cluttering the photo. He has released several "music videos" and over two dozen "songs."
Sting
Peterson had been communicating with a decoy posing as a fifteen-year-old girl on Skip The Games, which is a website used for facilitating prostitution. When Chris Hansen emerged to confront him, Peterson attempted to exit out of the front door but was stopped by deputies. He said that he was there to have sex with a girl that he met online and did not understand why he was being filmed. Peterson denied knowing the decoy's age.
Chris asked Peterson if he had ever had sex with a minor before, but Peterson said that he had not. The case was brought because he impregnated the girl, and he was convicted of having sex with a minor.
He also claimed to just be a "horny guy." He maintained that he did not intend to have a sex with a minor and only intended to smoke with with an escort.
Aftermath
Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes Child Sexually Abusive Activity Using a Computer to Commit a Crime (x2)
Peterson was released on a personal recognizance bond. He eventually accepted a plea deal and plead no contest to accosting a child for immoral purposes in exchange for the dropping of the other charges.
He was sentenced to six years in prison with a minimum of 18 months to serve. He will be eligible for release in 2027 and must register as a sex offender.
