Case narrative

Biography

Nagy was an immigrant from Hungary who lived in Los Angeles, California.

Sting

Chris Hansen never got a chance to interview Nagy as he drove past the sting house while another child sex predator was being arrested. Nagy was then taken into custody. When questioned by investigators, Nagy adamantly denied knowing the girl's age. His excuse was quickly refuted because he had bought the decoy a birthday cake for her thirteenth birthday.

Ironically, Chris nor the police had any idea what his actual occupation was, disturbingly being a teacher. Therefore, in the post commentary, he is still referred to as a waiter.

Aftermath

Perhaps due to his occupation, Nagy's bail was set at a sizeable $400,000. He was never able to make a bond and spent four months in jail. He pleaded guilty to a felony charge of attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age. Nagy was sentenced to time served, three years of probation, lifetime registration as a sex offender, and sixty days of Caltrans cleanup.
