Case narrative

Sting

Sierras arrives in the afternoon. He comes with a different car, it is later revealed he rented a car to throw police off. He creepily approaches the decoy, looking around anxiously. The audio from the decoy is poor quality, but subtitles show he is suspicious, noticing the difference in hair color.

Chris Hansen then starts to approach Sierras, where he gets worried and makes a run for it, eventually being tackled to the ground by police. Sierras appears confused to what is happening as he is apprehended. Even though the men handcuffing him have badges and windbreakers that say "POLICE" on them, he still asks who they are. While being carried away by police, Chris Hansen walks with them, trying to asking Sierras questions, but he stays mostly silent, only uttering a single "No!" When police search his car, they found the MP4 player he said he was going to give to the decoy, and a speeding ticket, showing he wanted to see the decoy fast.

Sgt. Lee Debrabander stated if he had picked up the decoy, she would be powerless, as she would be away from familiar places and people, and Sierras could take her anywhere.

Trivia

Sierras is one of the very few men arrested to not get the "Long Beach Special", which only consisted of probation and community service.
