Sting
The sting took place in a local hotel room. Lee was apprehended by police immediately upon entering the room. Lee told Chris Hansen that he came to just "hang out." Although Lee told Chris that he had seen To Catch a Predator before, he did not recognize Chris. He later admitted that he had never seen the show but knew about it.
To explain why he showed up to the hotel room, Lee stated that he saw the sting coming and "wanted to go along with it." Lee denied wanting to have sex with a fourteen-year-old girl, though. When asked why he came to the hotel room without such intent, Lee stated that he did not have a good reason. According to Lee, his primary reason for showing up was to see if it actually was a sting. Had it not been, Lee claimed, he would have simply left without having sex with the girl.

In a plea deal, Lee pled guilty to Using a Computer to Commit a Crime and Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes, in exchange for the other charges being dismissed. He was sentenced to 105 days in jail with 105 days of credit for time served, in addition to five years of probation. He was also required to register on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry. His probation is scheduled to end on August 8, 2029.
