Case narrative
Biography
In 2001, his Landlord filed a civil court case against him, and he was evicted from his apartment in NYC. He lived in Manhattan at the time, according to the Perverted Justice website.
Sting
When Eddie walked in the door he was confronted by Del Harvey , who was posing as the fourteen-year-old-girl. She told Eddie to take a seat at the counter in the kitchen. However, Eddie stood in the doorway between the kitchen and the dining room and told the decoy to tell him that she was nineteen years old. Del played dumb, reminding Eddie that she told him she was fourteen. Eddie became slightly passive aggressive towards "Rachel," asking if she "can read between the lines?"
Instead of a real child, Eddie was confronted by Chris Hansen and kept his claim that the decoy was nineteen. Eddie, however, denied this again and said he was only trying to protect himself.
Towards the end of the interview, the cameras came out and Eddie seemed hesitant and ready to bolt. Unlike most of the other predators, however, he decided to stick around and leaned over the kitchen counter, claiming he hadn't done anything wrong. Eddie then claimed that the decoy was a virgin and that he would never want to have sex with her because she was a virgin. Eddie continued to deny this over and over again. He tried to compliment Chris, saying " I think it's a great thing that you are doing catching bad guys left and right ." Eddie then said, "Well, gentlemen," and left.
Trivia
The bonus footage of Eddie talking to Del and being "camera shy" that wasn't shown in the episode was later uncovered in a previously unnoticed bonus episode called "In Our Own Words." While the footage technically isn't uncut, these two clips and other clips featuring Steven Reddington and DarkHero73 are the only pieces of bonus footage from the Bethpage sting to be officially released, although an uncut version of DarkHero's interview without the facial blur was possibly available online at one point.
