Derrick Brett Deason

Brett was thirty-nine years old and lived in Centerville, Alabama. He was a fan of fish.

Hansen then walked into the room and immediately introduced himself. Brett then seemed excited and exclaimed, "Nooo!" Hansen then said yes and said I would like to talk to you. He wondered Brett about his bizarre paddle fetish and how he talked to the girl, and Brett, seeming to try to tone it down, claimed it was all just roleplay. Hansen then asked Brett what they would do with the girl, and Brett said, "Absolutely nothing." He then asked Brett if he had condoms, and he said yes. He then asked Brett about his job and what his mother would say about all of this. Brett did not know what to say and began to stutter.

Hansen then opened the bags that were found in his car by police, put them on the table as they were speaking, and said, "Well, explain this." Chris then began taking each bag and describing each one, like a small paddle, a belt, or a big paddle. Brett then said it was all just a fetish. Hansen stopped going through the bags and told him the police wanted to talk to Brett.

Brett was brought away by police to the county jail. Police afterward checked his car some more and found more paddles, condoms, and pictures of underage girls in his wallet.

Brett hired a lawyer, and according to Chris Hansen in his Predators, I've Caught podcast series. He ultimately got a plea deal and received no prison time and instead probation and a sex offender registry.
