Sting
When he entered the house, Lee was confronted by Chris Hansen . Lee admitted to seeing Dateline NBC's previous To Catch a Predator broadcasts, as well as having nineteen-year-old son and fifteen-year-old daughter. He claimed he may have discussed having sex with the boy, but his true motivation was to be a father figure after the decoy after he told him he didn't have a father. Chris maintained that child sex predators like Lee were every parent's worst nightmare. Lee then told Chris he would never do this again
Aftermath
Lee was found guilty of a felony using the Internet to solicit/attempt to solicit a child for sex. He had gotten a public offender at first since he was not educated, and did not have a college degree. He tried fighting the charges but eventually pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to nine months in jail, three years of probation, and lifetime registration as a sex offender.
2024 update
Lee had his red convertible 1992 Chrysler impounded by the police during his interrogation. Chris tried to contact Lee but did not hear from him.
