Cameron Johnson

Johnson was mostly unemployed at the time, and primarily funded his day-to-day life by "just survivin'." He later clarified that he Door Dashed for money. Johnson had previously been arrested in Blount County, Alabama for Breaking & Entering and Assault. He got off of probation for that charge shortly before the sting. He claimed that those charges stemmed from someone calling him a racial slur. In his youth, Johnson was a "track star," but now has bad knees.

When Johnson arrived to the sting house, he came wearing a ski mask, causing the decoys to retreat into the house to warn other deputies. Despite this, they still met with him and received the promised payment of $100. Johnson tried to leave out of the front door after Chris Hansen made his appearance, requiring deputies to take Johnson to the floor for apprehension. Johnson told Chris that his name was "Marco James" and that he had just turned 22 years old. He was actually 24.

Johnson claimed to have known that the situation was a set up. Although he admitted that he "fu**** up," Johnson claimed that, in his defense, he did not go to the house looking for anything from the minor girl, only the aunt. When asked why he was concerned about the decoys being law enforcement, Johnson responded that he always asked people if they were police before doing anything. He then told an incomprehensible story about a fictitious friend. Chris asked Johnson if he was cruising for love, to which Johnson replied, "Ain't no love in the daytime, man."

After being told that police could, in fact, lie to him, Johnson got bored and started spinning his chair around in circles.

Johnson claimed that he had no intention of having sex with the minor girl. He also claimed it was simply "hood instincts." Johnson knew who Chris Hansen was because he saw a portrayal of Chris on The Boondocks . Johnson began to quote the scene, but stopped midway due to the realization of what he was about to say. Johnson mistakenly believed that Chris also hosted the television show Cheaters .

A deputy brought Johnson's identification card to Chris, revealing that Johnson had lied about his name and age. When questioned again about his age, Johnson could not remember and mistakenly said 25. When asked what should happen to him, Johnson replied that Chris Hansen should hire him. To prove his case, Johnson stated that he may have seemed like a bad person, but he was actually a "sweetheart."
