Biography
Robert Williams was a twenty-six-year-old truck driver shortly before Perverted Justice began preparing the Petaluma sting . He lived in Southern California.
Aftermath
Williams initially pled no contest to one count of Attempted Sex With a Minor. Williams was given what Perverted Justice dubbed the "Long Beach Special": time served, five years probation, sixty days roadside cleanup, and sex offender registration. According to his Megan's Law page, he was released in 2008, meaning he likely couldn't afford to make bail at the time and spent two years in prison before being convicted.
In 2016, ten years after his initial arrest, Williams was charged with and convicted of two charges of Kidnapping and Assault with Intent to Commit a Specified Sexual Offence. Although his sentence is unknown, he was denied parole in 2019. According to his risk assessment, he is considered an above-average-risk sex offender, meaning he is considered to have a strong possibility of committing future sex crimes.
Sometime in early 2024, Williams was released from prison and resided in Sacramento. However, he was almost immediately listed on the Megan's Law California Sex Offender Registry as being in violation of his registration, and was consequently taken back into custody.
2025 update
Williams is amongst those men. This would imply that the crime Williams committed was especially vile and sadistic in nature. In Hansen's opinion, Williams is exactly where he belongs.
Trivia
Before it was taken down, his file on Perverted Justice wasn't immediately accessible through regular navigation; his file could only be found through a search engine on the site. Given his later conviction, it can be assumed he intended on abducting and raping the decoy. His 'Brandon' alias is not listed, meaning he likely stopped using it following the sting. Another man in the Long Beach sting, Conrad "James" Valdez , also solicited a decoy posing as an eleven-year-old, although since he was unaired, he is almost never acknowledged in the TCaP community.
