Case narrative

Sting

When Anthony arrived to the sting house, he was greeted by the two decoys at the door. He pulled out a blunt to get ready for the decoys, as well as money to pay the decoys for sex. Anthony told the decoys that he had been in a situation like the current one before. However, he later stated that he was referring to prostitution, not soliciting a minor. As Chris Hansen walked out, Anthony dumped the contents of the blunt into the trash can. He did not have any excuse or explanation for his actions.

Before Chris could continue with the interview, Sheriff Chad Long noticed a suspicious item in Anthony's waistband, alerted by one of Chris Hansen's crew. When the Sheriff approached Anthony and asked if he had a gun on him, Anthony quickly reached for, and pulled out, a handgun from his waistband. The Sheriff grabbed and took control of the firearm. The deputies' reaction to Anthony pulling out a firearm on his own caused Anthony to throw his arms up in the air. Anthony claimed that the gun for his personal protection. Anthony refused to answer most further questions, or answered questions with light conversation about how he made a mistake. He attempted to hide from the cameras and bang his head against the wall behind him.

A further search of his vehicle uncovered another handgun, despite Anthony saying that there was not one. The search also found a stack of dozens of credit cards which were not in Anthony's name. He did not answer questions regarding those found items.
