Case narrative
Aftermath
On the day when Wade and the other sixteen child sex predators involved in the sting were indicted by a grand jury in April 2006, he was the first one to plead no contest to one felony count of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. In May 2006, Wade received a suspended prison sentence of 15 months. However, he was also required to serve sixty-seven days in jail and given credit for the sixty-seven days for time he had already served. As part of his sentencing, Wade was mandated to register as a sexually-oriented offender for a period of ten years. Additionally, he received a fine of $1,500 and was ordered to complete 60 hours of community service. Furthermore, Wade was held responsible for contributing to the costs incurred by the investigation, with a specific sum of $1,477 allocated towards covering part of the overtime paid to deputies involved in the case. Following the fulfillment of his jail sentence, Wade was put on probation until 2009 and was on the sex offender registry until 2016.
Post-Dateline, Wade has kept a low profile.
