Case narrative
Sting and Arrest
Alan arrived at the sting house and was immediately greeted by Chris Hansen before reaching the bar. Hansen told him to sit, so Alan shook his hand and sat on the stool. When asked how he was doing, Alan replied, "Terrible." When asked how old he was and where he was heading, Alan only responded, "I'm old." After further questioning, Alan claimed, "I'm out of my mind; I just can't believe it." Alan's interview with Chris is one of the shorter ones in the operation, as Alan got up to leave before Chris even finished questioning him.
Alan left the house but is immediately arrested by the police. As Alan was being handcuffed, the officer knelt on his lower back, which caused Alan to yelp in pain as he begged the officer to take it easy on his back because it was hurting, saying, "I swear I swear.” When he was being loaded into the police car, Alan could be heard saying, "Agh, thank you."
At the police station, Alan refused to admit his intentions and never revealed he had sex with an underage girl. Alan also maintained nothing would have happened at the house.
Trivia
Hansen described Chernay's conversation as very clumsy and made him feel like it was actually Chernay's first time attempting to solicit a minor. It is disputed if his last name is Chernay or Cherrnay, as some sources say either one or the other
