Sting
They did not arrive in time, but luckily Chris already had hidden cameras set up. Additional microphones had not been set up yet so the audio was not picked up well. A camera man came in later to record Duellman's audio with a phone. Duellman had just left work, was talking to the decoy while sitting in his car in the parking lot of the grocery store, and drove about five to ten minutes to meet the decoy. Conversation between Duellman and the decoy was not shown, the episode cutting directly to Chris Hansen emerging to confront Duellman.
Chris Hansen started by asked Duellman how old the decoy was. Duellman repeatedly stated that the decoy was nineteen-years-old and claimed to miss the message where the decoy said that he was fifteen. Before Chris could ask any more questions, Duellman started to leave against Chris' suggestion that he stay. He was apprehended by Sheriff's Deputies before he could leave and was placed in handcuffs. Adam quickly grew frustrated with the situation and refused to speak to Chris Hansen at first but then started answering his questions. Duellman claimed that he believed he was coming over to hook up with a nineteen-year-old.
When asked if the idea of meeting someone underage appealed to Duellman, he paused then stated, "Like not underage, no, but like eighteen and smooth." Duellman repeatedly denied knowing the decoy's age and insisted that he would have asked for identification before engaging in any sexual activity, a claim that Chris Hansen found "convenient." Duellman followed up his claims with, "but unfortunately, I did not intend to do a fifteen-year-old."
After Chris Hansen revealed his name, Duellman noted that he has never heard of him before. Duellman then claimed that Chris forced him to answer questions before refusing to speak further and being led out by deputies.

On May 23, 2025, Duellman pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 15 years in a Michigan state prison, with a minimum of 42 months (3.5 years) to serve. After his release, he must register as a sex offender. According to Chris, part of the reason for the lengthy sentence was the discovery of an image of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on his phone.
Duellman will first be eligible for parole in March 2029.
